New training on Saturday 23rd

Jolly Poultry is happy to announce that we will resume trainings next week end, on the 23rd from 8.30 to 2 pm for 1500 KES in Rongai.

The training is aimed at people with little experience with poultry keeping who want to commercialize and learn some how to make some money with poultry.

The block of the training is a mix of theoretical knowledge and practical hand on at the Jolly Poultry farm. You will learn how to keep, feed and treat chicken. The second block aims at your personal reflection, and see how you can apply the new knowledge to your personal situation and context. The Jolly team will then discuss with you your ideas, and tell you what is feasible and what not, so that you can go home with a business plan that fits your needs.

We are dealing with Kuroilers, i.e. improved kenyeji, and we believe it is a great option for smallholder, however during the training we will advice you honestly, if another breed fits your need better, we will be happy to give you contact to dealer selling the breed that fits you best.

Waiting for our first generation kuroiler chicks from India

Jolly Poultry is impatiently waiting for its first generation Kuroiler chicks from the breeding farm in India.

First generation? What's that? Kuroiler is a cross breed, the grand parents of a first generation kuroiler chicks are of 4 different breeds. There is a breeding farm in India does cross breeds to give us first generation.
Second generation means that both parents are first generation chicks.
The characteristics of Kuroilers get lost over four generations.

Jolly's experience over the last year has shown that second generation performs well in Kenya for meat and eggs. However breeding them further among themselves as well as breeding them with other local breeds will lead to inferior chicks. 

The import of Kuroiler first generation is Jolly's commitment to quality and contributes to maintain the genetic material of Kuroiler pure!

It is with deep sorrow that we have to announce that the beloved father of one of our directors and operational manager, Mr Newton Njuguna Wamae, has passed away this week-end.

Jolly Poultry is a small company and therefore we will not be able to run business as usual given this sad event. Jolly Poultry can therefore not serve you this week, but we will be please to serve you next week from Monday 27th with our usual passion for Kuroiler chicken.

We hope you will join our prayers to accompany the family during these difficult days.

Newton Njuguna Wamae 1945 – 2015

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of our beloved Newton Njuguna Wamae on Friday 17th April 2015 after a long illness. Retired Officer of Nairobi City Inspectorate.
He was husband to Lucy Nduha Njuguna and son to the Late Jonathan Wamae Hiiri and Grace Mumbi and the late Peris Wambui.
Father to Teresiah Wairimu Ng’ang’a, Jonathan Wamae, Grace Mumbi and Fredrick Karanja. Father in-law to Samuel Ng’ang’a Muiru and Sarah Wanjiru Wamae.
Brother to the lates’ Herman Ngugi, Phineas Mungai, George Ngugi, Jane Mungai, and Margret Kimani. Brother to Gladys Kagiri, Florence Cauri, Lucy Ngugi, James Ng’ang’a, Stephen kariuki, Obadia Mucheru, Benjamin Muiruri, Joseph Gatoto, Mary Wanjema, Winnie Wamae, Paul Njama, Jane Ng’ang’a, Samuel Kimani and Nancy Mukora.
Grandfather to Noel Ng’ang’a, Newton Ng’ang’a, Newton Grace, Newton Wamae, and Tamara Nduha.

Son in-law to the lates Fredrick Karanja Kimani and Teresiah Wairimu, Brother in law to Bertha Mwangi and late Archbishop Samson Mwangi Gaitho, William Kabaiku, Elizabeth Muoroto, Mary Muiruri, Monicah Mucheru, Mary Gatoto, Beatrice Njama, Agnes Kariuki, Rose Kimani and uncle to many.
Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers at his home at Upper Gathanji, Githunguri, Kiambu County at 4.00pm.
The cortege leaves Mukoe Funeral Home on Thursday April 23rd 2015 at 9am. The church service will be held at PCEA Gathanji Church, Upper Gathanji at 11.00am. Burial will be held thereafter at this farm in Upper Gathanji.
