Jolly Poultry at the AECF conference

Last week, Jolly Poultry was present at the African Enterprise Challenge Fund conference, to learn more about entrepreneurship in Africa and the newest developments.

We met many other poultry farmers and could learn a lot from them about hatching rates, how market our products and understand to what extend Jolly's vision is part of a bigger movement.

We  discovered an enterprise that produces a thermo-resistant Gumboro vaccine, a partnership we might investigate quite soon.

We also joined the discussion on contract farming, and learned a lot about what really matters in this business.

We returned home, our heads full of new ideas and a whole bunch of business cards witnessing the amazing network we were allowed to integrate. It will help us to serve you and any smallholder we are not yet reaching, better in future!

A successful on farm poultry training!

Last week end, Jolly Poultry hosted its first personalized poultry training. Though less people joined us than expected, the training was successful. We looked in depth into the situation of the participants and discussed what the next steps are for each particular case.

Also we visited the farm and discussed why we do thing the way we do, health and hygiene, feed and the whole production cycle. We also looked into market issue, including cash flow analysis of the individual projects.

Answering questions on a one to one basis

The highlights of the training was "it is possible to have kuroilers, it is not just a dream". As benefits to participants we offer a follow up via our closed facebook pages, were discussions can be continued and new emerging questions answered.

We hope that we can support many others to join us on the fascinating journey in poultry farming. Join us for our next training in September to be announce on our facebook page!

Find us in agricultural fairs all over Kenya!

Since a week now, Jolly Poultry has gone into social media, and we got tremendous feedback. Thanks to all of you to support us and show us that we are going into the right direction.

Jolly Poultry is located near Nairobi, between Ngong Town and Kisserian, where you can come and pick your chicks (please announce your visit in advance). You will understand that we cannot deliver 20 chicken to Mombassa on one day, and 10 to Embu on the next day. It does not make any sense nor from an economical nor an environmental perspective.
Our 3 months old Kuroilers sun bathing
However, bringing improved kienyeji chicken (Kuroiler) to you and any smallholder farmers in the most remote areas of Kenya remains out primary objective to which we keep striving. As a first step into this direction, we have set up a team that will go to agricultural fairs with our chicks throughout the whole country.
This blog as well as our facebook page will tell you in advance in which fairs we will be present. If you want to make sure that we have the chick you want, don't hesitate to set an order or just spontaneously visit our stand to get more information and buy some of the chicks we carry.
Our one week kuroiler chicks now for sale cash and carry
So don't forget to register to this blog (under follow by e-mail on the right) or to like our facebook page to stay informed about where you can get your Kuroiler chicks.
